PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a flame retardant styrene resin pellet capable of obtaining a molding having an excellent surface appearance. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the styrene resin pellet comprises the steps of melt kneading a resin composition containing (A) a styrene resin (component A) of 100 pts.wt. and (B) an organic phosphorus compound (component B) represented by formula (1) of 1 to 70 pts.wt. at a resin temperature of a range of 220 to 270 deg.C, and pelletizing the composition.
