PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data generator and a program for generating the embroidery data, easily and certainly generating the embroidery data for embroidering an unregistered character in the same size as the other characters such that the characters have a specified arrangement, when generating the embroidery data on the plural characters including the characters whose embroidery data are stored in a data storage means and the unregistered character whose embroidery data are not stored. SOLUTION: This data generator generates display data for displaying the unregistered character decided at S5 by use of displaying data of a computer 2 in the same size as the other characters such that the characters have the specified arrangement (S12), and generates the embroidery data for embroidering the unregistered character decided at S15 by use of the displaying data 2 of the computer 2 in the same size as the other characters such that the characters have the specified arrangement (S18).
