PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidizing decomposition device having high decomposition performance and durability. SOLUTION: This device is formed with a discharge space for decomposing pollutant by oxidization between a metal discharge electrode and a counter electrode. This oxidizing decomposition device is characterized in that an photocatalyst membrane is formed on the counter electrode surface, at least, the tip part of the discharge electrode is formed into a columnar shape with its vertical cross section having a circular or elliptical shape, and the installation angle in its tip face forms 50-130 deg. relative to the longitudinal central line of the discharge electrode.
