PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the function of the conventional catalyst device is insufficient in being used for cleaning a noxious substance or a malodorous substance. SOLUTION: This catalyst device is provided with a carrier 2 absorbing the malodorous substance or the noxious substance and, at least, having an insulating layer on the surface and a catalyst 1 having electric conductivity carried on the surface of the carrier 2 and is so constituted as to energize the catalyst 1, electronically activate the catalyst 1, and heat it by Joule heat. This catalyst device thus has a quick response, low power consumption and sufficiently high decomposition efficiency. |
