PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float improved so that a bait is allowed to naturally flow along the flow of a point. SOLUTION: This float is provided with resistant means which are attached to the side surfaces of the float main body 1 and comprise movable vanes 2 that are disposed in a state adjacent to the float main body 1, when the float is moved in the sinking direction, while in a separated state apart from the float main body 1, when the float is moved in the upward floating direction. The resistant means have small resistance against to movement in a float- sinking direction, but have large resistance against to movement in a floating direction, thus giving a tension for fully stretching the fishing line from the float to the fishing rod. Thereby, the slack of the fishing line can be eliminated to substantially prevent the contact of the fishing line with the surface of water. Hence, a pulling tension from the fishing line to the float is eliminated, and the float is allowed to flow along the flow of a point where the float is cast.
