HEARTH ROLL REPAIRING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearth roll repairing method for making a worn hearth roll reusable. SOLUTION: A roll body 1 is cut in the radial direction at positions with a worn part of the roll body 1 therebetween to manufacture first and second roll body sections 1A and 1B having annular section side groove forming surface 1b and a fitting recessed part 1a. In an annular roll body repairing member 6 having annular fitted projecting parts 6b and 6c and repairing member side groove forming surfaces 6e and 6f, the fitting recessed parts 1a and 1a and the fitting projecting parts 6b and 6b are fitted to each other so that the axis of a shaft part of the hearth roll agrees with the axis of the roll body repairing member 6, and fitted to the first and second roll body sections 1A and 1B. A welding groove 7 is filled by using welding material 9 to weld the first and second roll body section 1A and 1B to the roll body repairing member 6.
