The support (1) for a curtain rail (2) comprises a housing (3) in which a slide part (4) is accommodated. Conducting grooves (5,6) inside the housing are provided for longitudinal conductors (7,8) on opposite sides of the slide part. On the outer end of the housing intended for engagement with a curtain rail is an outwardly extending clamp part. The slide part is also provided with a clamp part at its outer end, which engages in the opposite direction to the clamp part on the curtain rail. For clamped fixture of a curtain rail on a support, the two clamp parts engage in longitudinal grooves (11,12) on the curtain rail.
