SUBSTANCE: starting solution of lactam is directed into first distillation column at temperature of base under or equal to 160 C and absolute pressure from 0.05 to 0.2 bar. Water in the form of distillate is separated and condensed at temperature from 30 to 60 C by cooling fluid medium in which capacity atmospheric air, water from river or water-cooling tower is utilized. Lactam remaining in base is subjected to distillation in second column at temperature of base under or equal to 160 C and pressure from 0.01 to 0.045 bar. Water containing traces of lactam after distillation in second column is recovered in the form of vapor at temperature above or equal to 70 C.
