<p>The procedure includes transmitting a first connection request from the first to the second station. The second stage involves transmitting a second connection request back to the first station, on receipt of the first request. On fulfilment of this request, the connection is then established. The procedure for establishing a connection between a first station and a second station for data transmission between the stations includes a first stage (E590) of transmitting a first connection request from the first to the second station. The second stage includes transmitting (E420) a second connection request back to the first station, on receipt of the first request. The next stage includes fulfilling (E515) the second request and establishing the connection (E420) between the station on receipt of the fulfilment of the request by the second station. The second station may be a terminal adapter for connection of digital data processing equipment to a communication network., the network being a wireless network. The terminal adapter may be integrated within the digital data processing equipment.</p> |
