PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device that can surely upgrade a version of a driver for a printer and a multifunction machine. SOLUTION: A high-speed black/white multifunction machine 61 is connected to a CSS center 71 via a public line 80 and the high-speed black/white multifunction machine 61, PCs 11-18, base station printers 21-24, 31, and color printers 41, 42, 51 are connected on the same network. The printer 61 connected to a line 80 confirms models on the same network and kinds of drivers required for the models, acquires version upgrade information of the drivers of the models from a connection destination of the line 80, downloads the drivers of new versions when the version is upgraded and stores them. Since it is not required for each person to individually access a WEB site, the amount of traffic can be reduced, the congestion of the network is avoided so that decrease in the communication speed on the network can be prevented. |
