PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce positional errors in a servo system, using a voice coil motor by performing drive control to hold out against a nonlinear high resistance force such as a static frictional force. SOLUTION: In the servo system, the voice coil motor is used for tracking the control of a head against a rotating recording carrier. To control the driving of the motor, the nonlinear static frictional force exerted thereon is measured, and then a rectangular-wave signal of an amplitude value equivalent to a driving force equal to or lower than the static frictional force is outputted in synchronization with a rotational cycle component of the recording carrier. Further, by having the rectangular-wave signal made to superpose on outputs to the voice coil motor, a driving control is performed against the nonlinearity of the static frictional force. |
