<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method whereby a high quality image having excellent gradation can be obtained and high transfer efficiency can be ensured even in a high light area. SOLUTION: In the method for forming an image by forming on a developing sleeve (developer carrier) 109 a magnetic brush of developer 107 containing at lest toner and carrier, by developing an electrostatic latent image, formed on the photoreceptor drum (image carrier) 111, by the use of toner, and by transferring the toner onto a recording medium, the volume average particle diameter of the toner is 2 to 6μm, and a ratio (Dv/Dn) between the volume average particle diameter (Dv) and number average particle diameter (Dn) is 1.00 to 1.20. In addition, the photoreceptor drum 111 is an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a dot distribution electrostatic latent image is formed by exposing the photoreceptor drum 111 with a flux of light modulated by a signal whose pulse width is modulated in accordance with the density of the recorded image.</p> |
