PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corona discharge device which is easily exchanged when used as a corona electrifying device, which is hardly broken compared with wires, which decreases the amount of discharge products (ozone and NOx) and which has a long life of the device. SOLUTION: A dielectric materials 2, 3 made of polyimide tapes or the like are stuck to the upper and lower faces of a plate electrode 1 made of molydenum or the like. The width of the dielectric materials 2, 3 is the same as the width of the plate electrode 1 and only the end faces of the plate electrode 1 are exposed to air. The obtained discharge electrode 10 is disposed in a metal casing 11 and high voltage Va is applied on the electrode to generate corona discharge. A grid electrode 12 on which voltage Vg is applied is disposed between the discharge electrode 10 and a photoreceptor 13. |
