PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the input of a retrieval key even from terminal equipment having no keyboard, and perform a retrieval on the basis of the retrieval key. SOLUTION: This system comprises a data memory part 1 for storing data, a terminal part 3 for inputting binary information included in the data to be retrieved, and a binary information retrieval part 2 for retrieving data containing at least a part of the binary information inputted by the terminal part 3 from the data stored in the data memory part 1.
