PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope constituted in such a manner that a focused endoscopic image is made easily obtainable by projecting an abutment member in observation so as to make the member abuttable on the periphery of an inspection section without increasing the outer diameter of a distal end more than needed. SOLUTION: This endoscope is constituted by arranging a first lens 12 for observation at the distal end 3 and projectably and retractably disposing the abutment member 39 abutting on the periphery of the inspection section at the periphery of the objective lens for observation.
