PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of noise at the time of reading a signal coming from a magnetic tape in a magnetic recording/reproducing device provided with a magneto-resistance effect head, by preventing the leakage of an MR sense current to the magnetic tape from the magneto-resistance effect head. SOLUTION: A driving circuit 10 of the magneto-resistance effect head for driving the magneto-resistance effect head 21 is constituted so that a potential VMR of the head 21 to the ground becomes less than a breakdown voltage VBD.
