PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for heavy-load tire tread, having improved retention of elongation at break after aging of rubber, suppressing the rise in heat generation and the reduction in elongation at break at a high temperature. SOLUTION: In this rubber composition for heavy-load tire tread, a diene- based rubber containing >=50 wt.% of a natural rubber contains sulfur (a), a sulfenamide-based vulcanization accelerator (b), tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide and/or zinc dibenzyldithiocarbamate (c) in the compounding weight part, and formula 1 (c/(b+c)) and formula 2 ((b+c)/a) satisfy the following relations 0.15<=(formula 1)=(c/(b+c))<=0.50 and 0.85<=(formula 2)=(b+c)/a)<=1.10, and in the compounding amount of the component (c) is in the range of >0.1 pt. wt. to <0.8 pt.wt. based on 100 pts. wt. of the diene-based rubber.
