PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile equipment that can select a read system according to which a destination device can receive data. SOLUTION: The facsimile is provided with an image read section 6 that has a plurality of kinds of image read modes to read an image of an original, and an electronic mail type communication control section 13 that transmits image information of an electronic mail type via a computer network 17, and also with a destination device designation means 15 that designates to which model a destination device belongs, a read permission designation means 14 that designates a read mode selectable by each destination device, and a destination designation means 7 that designates a transmission destination. Thus, the device of the transmission destination can select a read mode only from the read modes designated by the read permission designation means 14 and a state of selection propriety of a color read mode can be changed depending on a destination designated by the destination designation means 7. Problems such as disabled reception by a destination terminal and setting of a read mode depending on the destination can be solved.
