PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely eliminate toner of different electrifying characteristics that is left on an image carrier in a cleaning device of a electrophotographic device. SOLUTION: In the cleaning device 17 of the electrophotographic device cleaning the surface of an intermediate transfer body by eliminating the toner on an intermediate transfer body (image carrier) 10 by a cleaning member, two fur brushes 90 and 91 each applying bias of different polarities are provided as cleaning members. Then, for example, the surface of the intermediate transfer body 10 is cleaned by applying (+) bias by the fur brush 90 that is disposed on the upstream side in the direction of rotation of the intermediate transfer body 10 and next, (-) bias by a fur brush 91 that is disposed on the downstream side. The toner that was not eliminated by the cleaning device 17 is transferred in reverse to the side of a photosensitive body 40BK at a primary transfer position.
