METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CORRECTING IMAGE BLUR OF IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for optimally correcting an image blur to photograph a good image irrespective of the attitude of a camera to photograph. SOLUTION: The driving current values of the actuators 20X and 20Y for driving of a correcting lens group L2 which is interposed in an image pick-up optical system and driven for blur correction in two directions which intersect perpendicularly with each other in the surface which intersects perpendicularly with an optical axis, are detected by current value detecting parts 31x and 31y to determine the photographing attitude of a camera 1. Angle sensor 5x and 5y detect the photographing operation of the camera 1, and the driving direction of the correcting lens group is selected on the basis of the attitude of the camera 1. The quantity of blur correction for the photographing operation is calculated on the basis of blur correction characteristics, and the correcting lens group L2 is driven for blurr correction.
