PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable body detecting/tracing device capable of appropriately detecting and tracing a movable body. SOLUTION: The movable body detecting/tracing device to detect and trace movable bodies 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 moving on a traveling path 1 by sensor heads 31, 32, 33 installed in the longitudinal direction of the traveling path 1 is provided with a detecting zone entrance timing predicting means 66 to predict timing that the movable bodies 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 enter detection zones 41, 42, 43 based on outputs of the sensor heads 31, 32, 33.
