PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music information recording device with a recording preventive function of overlap music which is capable of informing a user of the presence or absence of the overlap music without forcing intricate work, such as writing in memoranda, to the user and without exerting a burden to the user in order to inform the user of whether music for DRAW exists in the recorded music or no in recording the music data for DRAW to a recording medium having the recorded music and is capable of preventing recording of the overlap music. SOLUTION: A reproducing device 4 connected to a CPU1 outputs the music data for DRAW to a recording device 2 and is provided with a recording control section 5 for controlling the reproduction thereof, additional recording and the reproduction of the recorded music data. A first memory 6 temporarily stores the data obtained by reproducing the prescribed range of the recorded music data already recorded at the recording medium in a reproducing section 3 and a second memory 7 temporarily stores the music data for DRAW obtained by the reproducing device 4. A comparator section 8 connected to the first memory 6 and the second memory 7 compares the identity of the recorded music data and the music data for DRAW and when the coincidence is specified, this extent is displayed in a display section 9.
