The invention relates to a device for the therapeutic treatment of part of the body of a person or animal by local freezing, such as the removal of warts, the area which is to be treated being treated with the aid of a porous body which is cooled with the aid of a liquid cooling agent which evaporates at a temperature lower than 0 degree C, which device comprises a sprayer for accommodating the cooling agent, a reducing and shut-off valve, which can be operated by means of a finger, on an end wall of the sprayer, with a feed tube which reaches into the liquid phase, and a discharge tube for cooling agent, which adjoins the discharge opening of the valve and at the end of which a porous body is located, which porous body is intended to be brought into contact with the part of the body which is to be treated, the cooling agent flowing out via the porous body when the valve is actuated, and the porous body comprising foam with open, interconnected cells or cellular material with open, interconnected cells. |
