PURPOSE: A communication system for an emergency telephone is provided to perform a bidirectional communication by a wired or wireless between each terminal and a switch and readjust a power charged in a battery for driving the emergency telephone to be suitable for a season. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of terminals(8a-8n) installed on a road have a solar battery, a control board, and an emergency telephone, respectively. An optical transmission equipment(4) receives a dialing signal of the terminals(8a-8n), outputs a ring signal through a switch(5), and connects the terminals(8a-8n) to the switch(5). The optical transmission equipment(4) has a keypad for paging each terminal(8a-8n) and transmits a paging signal by the operation of the keypad to the terminal(8a-8n). An MTSO(Mobile Telephone Switching Office)(7) and a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network)(6) connect to the switch(5) through the optical transmission equipment(4). Each of terminals(8a-8n) has a wireless transmitting and receiving device for performing a wireless call with the MTSO(7) and the PSTN(6), a receiving device for receiving the paging signal, and an RS-232C port for connecting the terminal(8a-8n) to the external device. A microprocessor of the terminal(8a-8n) readjusts a charge and discharge voltage of a battery according to a peripheral temperature sensed in a temperature sensor, a voltage of the battery, and a power level generated by a solar battery.
