PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable undisturbed and continuous viewing of a reflected-in (incident) image information independently of whether a viewer views only the reflected-in mage or an overlay, and independently of brightness and contrast with which an object is formed. SOLUTION: The illumination of a reflected-in image (4) can be formed by a main light source (11) and/or a second light source (18) which can be adjusted independently of the main light source by using a transmitted light display (21). An optical prism (17) or a mirror is provided for switching between the main light source and a light source (18) for the reflected-in image.
