PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-type internal combustion engine, capable of preventing dirtying of the inside of a crank case and a transmission case by smoothly drained of water which has fallen between the crank case, the transmission case and cylinder blocks. SOLUTION: This V-type internal combustion engine is provided with a pair of cylinder blocks 10a, the crank case 24, to which the cylinder blocks are fitted, and the transmission case 25 provided continuous in rear of the crank case. The crank case and the transmission case are formed continuous to each other, and the upper end of the transmission case is positioned higher than the upper part of the crank case to tilt the upper front part of the crank case downward.
