Determination of the dimensions of an object

A method is described for the determination of the dimensions of an object, in particular the statistics of the human body, in particular the surface contour of a human being. A pattern of horizontally extending lines which impinges at an angle of approximately 45 DEG is projected onto the object. This pattern is projected by a projector onto a mirror and reflected therefrom, and an image of the object is produced together with the line pattern. The line pattern is projected by the projector at an angle of approximately 45 DEG onto a horizontally aligned mirror and reflected from the latter onto the object.
