PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and light-weight magnetic sensing element having a high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The magnetic sensing element 1 is constituted with the use of a TMR element 2 manufactured originally with the use of a thin film technique or the like, whereby the magnetic sensing element is made compact and light-weight. At the same time, a soft magnetic film 7 for supporting sensing a magnetic field is provided to one face of the element 1, which has a coercive force lower than a coercive force of a magnetic layer 4 and an anisotropy axis set independently of an anisotropy axis of the magnetic layer 4. Detecting a magnetic force can be carried out functionally separately by utilizing a difference of the coercive forces, and therefore the sensitivity to a magnetic field as a sensor is improved.
