PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission which can obtain gear ratio of adequately separated forward seven-shift or more. SOLUTION: A reduction gear connected to an input shaft generates first/ second rotation decelerated so as to make at least one rotational speed smaller than rotation of the input shaft, a rotation selector selects one of the first/second rotation transmitted to a first/third control clutch, the first/third control clutch selectively transmits the transmitted first or second rotation to a first/fourth element of compound planetary gears for speed change having the first to fourth element, the rotation of the input shaft is selectively transmitted to the second element by a second control clutch, rotation of the first/second element is selectively regulated by a first/second control brake, the rotation of the input shaft is speed changed by gear ratio of adequately separated forward seven-shift or more and transmitted to an output shaft connected to the third element.
