PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of the memory of a digital circuit for correcting the black level of a digital luminance signal. SOLUTION: A video signal processor for correcting the black level of a digital luminance signal included in a digital video signal is provided with a memory means (1) in which input/output character data for nonlinearly converting the digital luminance signal to be inputted, a comparing means (6) for comparing the value of the digital luminance signal to be inputted with the first fixed value, a weighting means (2) for weighting the nonlinearly converted digital luminance signal to be outputted from the memory means with a weighting signal supplied from outside, a switching means (4) for selecting one of the value of the weighted digital luminance signal outputted from the weighting means and the second fixed value according to the comparing result of the comparing means and outputting it, and a multiplying means (5) for multiplying the output of the switching means and the digital luminance signal to be inputted.
