PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a seasoning method and seasoning device that can remove discharge sources remaining between the electrodes by seasoning for a high sensitive electron gun that has narrow gap between the electrodes of the electron gun compared with the conventional electron gun. SOLUTION: The seasoning device comprises a first and second seasoning power sources 30, 31. A grounding potential is applied on G1 electrode 6, G2 electrode 7, and G4 electrode 9 to G7 electrode 12 from the seasoning device, respectively. A voltage (for example 60 kV) higher than the voltage (for example 25 kV) that is applied on the anode button 5 is applied for several minutes during driving of the cathode-ray tube on the anode button 5 from the first seasoning power source 30. A voltage (for example 5 kV) higher than the voltage (for example 1.2 kV) that is applied on the G3 electrode 8 is applied for several minutes during driving of the cathode-ray tube on the G3 electrode from the second seasoning power source 31.
