PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording waveform generator and an optical disk drive evaluator, capable of reducing the evaluation time of a writing type optical disk drive, and easily analyzing a writing strategy optimal for a medium. SOLUTION: In the optical disk waveform generator for outputting a recording waveform corresponding to a mark length to an optical disk recording head for recording a pulse width modulated mark, the formation of a writing type optical disk recording waveform, the measurement of a regenerative signal, and the analysis of an optimal recording waveform are automatically performed in a single device.
