PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fin inserter which can insert a fin by letting it fall surely between each tube and the next. SOLUTION: This fin inserter is equipped with a fin retaining member 76 which clamps and retains the fins constituting a heat exchanger, a cam drive mechanism and a cam 102 which make the fins free of clamping, a conveyor 75 which carry a plurality of fin retaining members 76 attached at specified intervals in order at specified pitches, and a fin inserting member 77 which lets fall and inserts the fins being carried into the fin fall positions by that conveyor 75 between each tube and the next arranged at specified intervals.
