PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and the size of a planar display device in which a driving circuit and a charge pump circuit are packaged on an array substrate. SOLUTION: Control signals to be supplied to a signal line driving circuit 105 (or a scanning line driving circuit 104) are supplied as the control signals required to drive a charge pump circuit 10. Thus, an increase in new array input pins and a load required to generate dedicated pulse signals are eliminated from an external control circuit and the reduction in the cost and the size of the device is realized by packaging the charge pump circuit on the array substrate.
