PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add and mix a neutral solidifying agent comprising magnesium oxide as a main component and such an acidic solidification auxiliary as giving a treated soil pH value of 5 to 9, preferably 5.8 to 8.6, instead of a cement-based solidifying agent containing highly toxic hexavalent chromium ion, thereby providing an improved soil having a remarkably enhanced solidified strength and not liable to cause the pollution of alkali and heavy metals. SOLUTION: This neutral soil-solidifying agent is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. of magnesium oxide with 10 to 100 pts.wt. of an acidic solidification auxiliary. The acidic solidification auxiliary comprises one or more acidic solidification auxiliaries selected from aluminum sulfate, aluminum polychloride, ferrous sulfate, ferric chloride, acidic sodium sulfate, sulfamic acid, phosphoric acid, and phosphorus compounds giving aqueous solutions having pH values of <=7. |
