PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket for preventing EMI, which inhibits deterioration in performance due to the operating temperature, and at the same time can directly contact the conductive plate of a cabinet without requiring an insulators for fixing for effectively preventing propagation of an inadverse electromagnetic wave between the cabinets, and to provide a method for mounting the gasket. SOLUTION: A metallic wire is wound in a coil 5, flattened in a specific direction (right direction in Fig.) by force in a vertical direction to a shaft 9. Also, an L-shaped bending section 6 is provided at both ends of the coil 5 as a means for hooking onto a mounting surface.
