PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a given damping effect to vibration in a wide high frequency range by making rigidity of a partition wall itself variable and to fabricate the whole device at a low cost. SOLUTION: The partitioning wall 8 partitioning a liquid chamber into main and sub liquid chambers 10, 9 communicating and connecting with each other through a damping orifice 11 is formed like a piston capable of displacing in such a direction as to vary volumes of the main and sub liquid chambers 10, 9. The piston-like partition wall 8 is connected with a small type piston 13 integrally displaceable with the partition wall and in the same direction as the partition wall 8. A small diameter cylinder 14 slidably holding and mounting therein the small type piston 13 is filled with a MR fluid 15 varying in its viscosity according to an intensity of a magnetic field in a sealed state, and the small diameter cylinder 14 is provided on an outer peripheral portion thereof with an electromagnet 16.
