PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of the memory of a digital circuit for correcting the black level of a digital luminance signal. SOLUTION: A video signal processor for correcting the black level of a digital luminance signal included in a digital video signal is provided with a memory means (1) in which input/output character data for nonlinearly converting the digital luminance signal to be inputted, a comparing means (2) for comparing the value of the digital luminance signal to be inputted with the first fixed value, a switching means (3) for selecting one of the value of the nonlinearly converted digital luminance signal outputted from the means 1 and the second fixed value according to the comparing result of the means (2) and outputting it, and a multiplying means (4) for multiplying the output of the switching means and the digital luminance signal to be inputted.
