PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve designability and portability as well as to do away with the need for allowing superfluous space for an emergency battery holder inside electronic equipment, in portable electronic equipment such as a camera which normally uses a built-in secondary battery, but can be operated with a common primary battery mounted on an emergency battery holder fitted to the equipment. SOLUTION: The emergency battery holder 3 comprises a pair of holder pieces 3a, 3b coupled by a hinge with the bottom part of a camera body 1. The holder pieces 3a, 3b are contained normally in the bottom part of the camera body 1 in a folded state without protruding outside from the bottom face, and, while the emergency battery is in use, are projected outside the camera body 1 for use in inward opening. The holder pieces 3a, 3b are formed of plastic or the like with elasticity, which are slanted inward before mounting of the battery, and are so set up that they take an almost vertical posture against the bottom face of the camera body 1 by bending a little outward at mounting of the battery.
