PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera where data can easily be copied between recording mediums without the need of other computers such as PC even in the digital camera whose number of slots is limited. SOLUTION: The digital camera 1 is provided with an operation guide means 93 guiding an operation procedure while a menu is displayed on a monitor 21. When a user performs a prescribed operation following the operation guide mean 93, data is copied in RAM 113 from a memory card 40. The user takes out the memory card 40A in accordance with a card exchange instruction by the operation guide means 93 and performs the prescribed operation following the operation guide means 93 after the user inserts the memory card 40B into the same card slot 41. Thus, data which is temporarily recoded in RAM 113 is transferred to the memory card 40B.
