PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program list display system for automatically adjusting the display contents of a program list in accordance with the size of an area where the program list is displayed. SOLUTION: The program list display system obtains the size of the area where the program list is displayed and complies and outputs the program list so that it is settled in the size without reducing the total time required for displayed program information. Redundant information is deleted in accordance with prescribed priority until the size of the program list becomes not more than the size or program information is simplified by a prescribed simplifying method.
