PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone apparatus having a display unit detachable from a telephone apparatus body and capable of functioning even by a single display unit. SOLUTION: The telephone apparatus 1 transits and receives various type signals via a channel. The apparatus 1 comprises a display unit 12 of a master unit 2 detachable from the unit 2. A portable information terminal function is imparted to the unit 12 to be functioned as a portable information terminal equipment. A mobile communication function is imparted to the apparatus to function the apparatus as a mobile communication equipment like a PHS or a portable telephone. A imaging function is imparted to the apparatus to function as a digital camera equipment.
