PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that applies a drive voltage to a light source through the use of a flexible wiring board so as to take countermeasures for EMI without increasing the cost. SOLUTION: In the image reader having a light source irradiating an image side of an original and a photoelectric conversion element that receives a light reflected in the image side of the original and extracts the light as an analog image signal, and applying a drive voltage to the light source through the flexible wiring board 4, the flexible wiring board 4 is used for earthing to an enclosure holding the light source. On the production of a radio wave noise when the drive voltage is applied to the light source via the flexible wiring board 4, since the radio wave noise is led from the earth part of the flexible wiring board 4, to the enclosure and the reader main body or the like conducted to the enclosure to ground, the image reader can take countermeasures for EMI around the light source.
