PURPOSE: To provide a broadcasting method and a broadcasting receiver for enabling contents to be viewable for a time predetermined by a distributor, while distributing the contents without viewing in advance, and to protect the contents by making the contents incapable of viewing for the time not intended by the distributor. CONSTITUTION: Contents, accompanied by storage start instruction information are broadcasted and recorded on a recording medium of the receiving side at a first time period, and reproduction start instruction information for reading the contents recorded on the recording medium are broadcasted to make the contents which are viewable in a second time period being later than the first time period, and the contents are desirably enciphered. Read enciphered contents are decoded by using a decoding key broadcasted, together with the reproduction start instruction information and reproduced in the second time period. The decoding key is erased at the same time the decoding is finished. |
