IMAGE RENDERING METHOD AND IMAGE RENDERING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image rendering method and apparatus for properly rendering an image generated by a high resolution computer by using limited memory capacity and constrained rendering architecture. SOLUTION: The image is segmented into a plurality of tiles 110. A graphics renderer usually used to render a low resolution image onto a display device is used to render one tile 110 at a time. The rendered tile images are combined to generate a band 101 of the image and image data of the band 101 are transferred to a printer engine for printing. Bands 101-104 are each rendered until the entire image required for printout is formed and transferred to the printer engine.
