摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell which is low in electrolysis voltage and is not damaged in spite of a pressure fluctuation in the electrolytic cell. SOLUTION: This bipolar ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell consists of electrolytic cells, each of which is formed by fixing both ends of an electrolyte circulating passage forming member to the partition of the unit electrolytic cell in the state of deforming its central part to press on the side opposite to the partion and to form an electrolyte circulating passage extending in a perpendicular direction of an electrode chamber with the partition of the electrolytic cell as one surface, fitting the surface on the side opposite to the partition of the electrolyte circulating passage forming member with an electrode and providing the surface on the partition side of the electrolyte circulating passage forming member with a spacing holding member longer in the length than the spacing from the partition when the deformation can no longer be restored by thrusting of the electrolyte circulating passage in the partition direction.
