PURPOSE:To provide a laser thermal recording material which enables an image recording having a high sensitivity, density, contrast and picture quality. CONSTITUTION:A laser thermal recording material is obtained by providing a laser thermal recording layer containing a coloring agent, a developer which colors by reacting with the coloring agent at the time of heating and a laser beam absorbing substance, which can absorb the laser beam and convert the same into heat, as essential components. In the laser thermal recording material using a water-soluble carbocyanine compound as a laser beam absorbing substance and containing a water-soluble binder and particles of an oxide into a laser thermal recording layer and a manufacture of the laser thermal recording material, the water-soluble carbocyanine compound, water-soluble binder and the particles of the oxide are mixed up with each other, after carrying out heat treatment heating at the temperature of 50-90 deg.C for 5 minutes to 5 hours, the coloring agent and developer are added after cooling at a temperature of not exceeding 40 deg.C. |
