PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bit line pull-up circuit which can compensate a leakage current for preventing delay of operation and malfunction of a sense amplifier even at the time of driving a low power semiconductor memory element by compensating a leakage current generated in a bit line. SOLUTION: In a bit line pull-up circuit having a pair of bit line pull-up transistor and one bit line equalizing transistor, the circuit is provided with a leakage current sensing section of which one end is connected to a bit line and a bit line pull-up transistor and which senses a leakage current of a bit line, a leakage current compensating section to which one end of a bit line is connected and which compensates a leakage current of a bit line, a leakage current compensation control section connected between the leakage current compensating section and a first power source and controlling supply of a power source of the compensating section, and a leakage current storing section connected to a control terminal of the leakage current compensating section and a second power source so as to store leakage current quantity of a bit line and control the leakage current compensating section in accordance with its stored leakage current quantity.
