PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-troidal continuously variable transmission capable of restraining the occurrence of slip loss and spin loss of a roller. SOLUTION: When the oil pressure of one oil chamber 121a in a cylinder 121 for driving a carriage 18 and oil pressure as axial terminal load to the respective disks 5, 15 are taken as P1, and the oil pressure of the other oil chamber 121b in the cylinder 121 is taken as P2, P2/P1 is a function Rp (T,α) of the temperature T of traction oil and an angleαof inclination of the roller 17. According to the above, previously the value of the function Rp is obtained by varying the temperature T and the angleαof inclination to provide a map. A hydraulic control unit reads out P2/P1 with reference to the map according to the actual temperature T and angleαof inclination, and controls the oil pressure P1 and P2 so that the traction force for driving the output disk 15 by the roller 17 and the driving force of the carriage 18 are balanced according to the obtained P2/P1.
