PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development processing device which is capable of preventing overheating of parts, etc., of a filter device and a filter device which is disposed at this device and a method of processing sensitive materials. SOLUTION: A filer housing of the filter device 14 is provided with a level sensing probe 27 which is constituted to send a signal to a controller having at least a level sensing circuit 29, a central processing unit 30 and a semiconductor relay 33. The controller acts to turn off a heating element 25 of the filter device 14 when the processing solution in the filter housing falls to the level of the filter housing set by the level sensing probe 17. The overheating of the parts of the filter device 14 is thus prevented.
